Cash Applications SpecialistOur client is seeking an experienced Cash Applications Specialist to join their accounting team in NW Houston. The ideal candidate will have strong cash application experience, excellent attention to detail, and advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. This role will be responsible for accurately applying customer payments, reconciling accounts, and researching payment discrepancies.Responsibilities:Apply daily customer payments to the appropriate accounts and invoicesProcess ACH, wire, check, and other customer payment transactionsResearch and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepanciesReconcile customer accounts and payment activityMaintain accurate cash application records and documentationResearch unidentified payments and work with internal teams to determine proper applicationAssist with account reconciliations and month-end close activitiesPrepare and analyze cash application reportsUtilize Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile payment dataCommunicate with internal teams and customers regarding payment issuesMaintain accurate records and ensure timely processing of transactionsPerform other accounting duties as neededQualifications:2+ years of Cash Applications or Accounts Receivable experienceStrong understanding of cash application and payment processingAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills requiredExperience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs requiredStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to research and resolve discrepancies independentlyStrong communication skillsExperience working with high-volume transactions preferredAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
